Join the orientation events, training sessions & groups

The best way to start your academic year is to get a good orientation and introduction.

Get a good intro

The best way to start your academic year is to get a good orientation and introduction. To give you a head start with this, we offer 3 introduction events at the beginning of the academic year. If you find you need extra help in getting orientated before your studies, be sure to ask your student adviser at the faculty for help.

Prepare early: Join workshops & training sessions

There are also many workshops and training sessions available to support you in your orientation and help you find the balance between your studies, social life and exploring your new environment.
Be sure to keep an eye on the  calendar for these events and sign up early to avoid disappointment. The counselors are also open for your suggestions. Let them know if you have an idea for a training session about a specific  personal skill or topic.

Tackle problems immediately

If you encounter problems of any kind, seek help early.  You can always ask for advice and help from the international student adviser or counseling service. It is also a good idea to learn a few words of Dutch; there are many options available for learning the language.

Boost your social life

As for meeting other students, the International Student Network (ISN) is an organisation specifically aimed at representing international students (ISN-R) and helping them to integrate (ISN-I).  They organise lots of events that will help you meet other students.
