Deregistration and reimbursement of tuition fees

Students may terminate their student registration at any point during the academic year. It is important to take care of deregistration as soon as you discontinue your studies.

Reimbursement of tuition fees

It is in your interest to apply for deregistration on time and in line with regulations as late deregistration may affect the amount refunded.
Upon termination of your student registration, tuition fees are refunded for each remaining month of the academic year. Students who have paid a reduced tuition fee because they were enrolled in more than one programme will only receive a refund if they terminate enrolment in all programmes.
Deregistration per 1 July and 1 August? No refund can be made.

NOTE: From the date when your registration is terminated, you are no longer entitled to a study grant or an OV card (public transport pass). Make sure that you have ended your "studiefinanciering" from DUO before or on the date that your enrolment as a student has ended.

Termination and changes of student registration

Termination of registration should be done via Studielink (except in cases mentioned below). Please log in under 'My enrolments' and go to 'Application for termination of enrolment'. Note that you must also do this if you have completed your Bachelors/Masters programme and will not continue studying.

Changes of registration should also be done via Studielink (except in cases mentioned below).
